2017-18 offseason

West Coast lost a wealth of experience with the retirements of Matt Priddis and Sam Butler along with journeyman ruckman Jonathan Giles and one-year Eagles Sam Mitchell and Drew Petrie, and the delisting of veterans Sharrod Wellingham and Josh Hill. The only arrival with previous AFL experience was former Power midfielder Brendon Ah Chee. The Eagles traded aggressively to acquire a handful of second-round picks, and went tall with their first two picks before taking livewire Subiaco forward Liam Ryan.
