West Coast career[]
Originally from Katunga in Victoria's Goulburn Valley, Geddes was a late selection in the 1988 draft. He spent 1989 playing for Swan Districts' colts team, and returned to Victoria at the end of the year.
Adelaide career[]
Geddes made it on to a second AFL list in 1992 when he was plucked by Adelaide from Strathmerton, another Goulburn Valley-based country side. He did not play a senior game for the Crows but became a key player for SANFL side Sturt, spending more than a decade and playing more than 200 games for the club.
