AFL.com.au reported that delisted Carlton midfielder Kane Lucas was set to be drafted by West Coast after completing a medical at the club. The club announced new deals for prime midfielders Luke Shuey and Matt Priddis. Shuey signed on until the end of 2018, with Priddis extending his 2015 contract for another year. Victorian-raised Shuey said he wanted to be part of the success the club was building towards. "We have a pretty young group, we're tight and we want to achieve big things together. We believe that we are starting to build some momentum and the first steps were taken towards that in the last third of the 2014 season. Nic Naitanui was the sole West Coast representative in the Australian side that beat Ireland in a one-off International Rules Test at Subiaco Oval. The ruckman contributed well to the win and, more importantly, came through the match unscathed.

Daniel Kerr described his recent arrest and four-night jail stay as "a wake up call". Kerr was charged with two counts of endangering a person's life, health or safety after an incident in Doubleview where he allegedly splashed flammable liquid around the property of an acquaintance, and was left in prison when his parents refused to sign his bail papers. Kerr said he needed to learn from the experience. "It did teach me a lesson when I was kept in there as long as I was.
