Giant ruckman Ilija Grgic played 23 games for West Coast after crossing from Footscray.

Footscray career[]

Grgic played 62 games for Footscray across 4 seasons but was caught in a logjam with Scott Wynd and Luke Darcy for the number 1 ruck position, and was ultimately traded to West Coast at the end of the 1996 season.

West Coast career[]

Grgic had a successful first season in blue and gold, holding down the ruck and drifting forward to kick 15 goals while missing just one game for the year.

His 1998 season was a polar opposite, struggling with an ongoing back problem and managing just one early-season senior game, spending the rest of the year playing for Peel in the WAFL. At the end of the season he was delisted.

Essendon career[]

Thrown a lifeline by Essendon in the national draft, Grgic played just 2 senior games for the Bombers before being delisted for a second time.
