A flamboyant, hard-running, take-no-prisoners defender, Mark Zanotti was recruited into the inaugural West Coast squad after a best-afield display in Subiaco’s premiership win in 1986.

West Coast careerEdit

Zanotti missed just one game in the club's first season, although his form petered out a little towards the end of the year. In 1988 he added another 15 games, getting Brownlow votes in the season opener and picking up 15 touches and a couple of goals in a loss to Hawthorn. However, he finished the year at Subiaco and was subsequently traded to Brisbane.

Brisbane and Fitzroy careerEdit

After 64 games for the Bears in four seasons, Zanotti shifted to Fitzroy for the start of the 1993 season. He played 57 games for the Roys between 1993 and 1995.
