From the papers[]

The Age[]

"They were angry Crows on Saturday night, and for the most part they stunned the Eagles with their approach on the ball. They manned up well, stacked the back lines, and weren't afraid to run the ball through the corridor.

There were some brilliant passages when Adelaide's half of the ground was vacant and it became a test of pace, often giving the home side an edge with precision kicking.

In the third term Adelaide controlled play for 15 minutes yet scored one behind while the Eagles kicked two goals from limited inside-50 entries. The real pain came at the 22-minute mark with a lucky free to Patrick McGinnity that resulted in a goal to put the Eagles nine points clear."

Sunday Mail[]

"ADELAIDE froze. And with a bewildering six-minute collapse to West Coast at AAMI Stadium, the Crows pretty well surrendered their dream of playing AFL finals in September. Adelaide led by 13 points with 6:01 to play when small forward Jason Porplyzia kicked the Crows' ninth and last goal - and coach Brenton Sanderson eagerly left his grandstand box for the field with reason to think the game was won.

The Eagles won by six points on a pair of counter-break goals, the first from Bradd Dalziell with 1:56 to play and then from Josh Kennedy with 53 seconds on the clock."
